Enid Kiiza, Credited by UCAA for her hardwork.

Enid Kiiza is a former employee with Bank of Uganda and she was also a consultant with IFAD. She is a very committed member to Uganda Change Agent Association with the spirit of propagating and upholding the Self Reliant participatory development Methodology

In 1994, Enid visited Sri Lanka where she first found out about the Change Agent Methodology. She picked interest in it, and critically studied the methodology. She later found out that the brain behind the methodology Stan Burkey was actually in her home country Uganda, propagating the same methodology.

Due to the love of the Change Agent Methodology, Enid visited the Uganda Change Agent Association (UCAA) office to find out about the burning issue – The Change Agent Methodology.

Enid was really inspired by the methodology and thus wrote a proposal to IFAD requesting to train Change Agents at parish level in Kibaale and Hoima Districts, where IFAD was working by then.

In 1995, UCAA in collaboration with IFAD conducted 5 (five) Change Agent Training courses following Enid’s efforts, UCAA was able to train over 120 Change Agents and it is worthy to mention that those were the first Change Agents to be trained in Bunyoro Sub Region in Western Uganda.

In 2006, Enid developed a working document for the District Livelihood Support Programme (DSLP) for IFAD and she recommended that the community mobilization and Savings and Credit components of the programs should be implemented by the UCAA District Change Agent Associations.

In 2008, Enid as a consultant to IFAD went to Malawi where IFAD has its offices and referred a group of the IFAD staff to Uganda Change Agent Association (UCAA) to learn more about the Change Agent Methodology. This group also visited the UCAA branches of

  1. Kampala
  2. Kagadi (Kibaale)
  3. Mabaale (Kibaale) and
  4. Bukonzo East (Kasese)
Up to now, Enid is still selling Uganda Change Agent Association not only in Uganda, but also outside Uganda. She became a life working partner. Due to her significant contribution to UCAA, UCAA staff and Board of Directors still treasures her and shall always appreciate the good work she did for the organization.
