
Youth Empowerment, Employment and skilling
Youth empowerment enables young people to take control of their lives and participate actively in their communities. It involves fostering a sense of self-belief, confidence, and responsibility, equipping them with the skills and resources to overcome challenges and become positive change-makers. This shall be achieved through various initiatives like education, vocational training, mentorship, and community engagement.
It is also worth noting that youth unemployment in Uganda is a significant challenge, with a high unemployment rate among young people and a large number of youths in vulnerable employment or not in education, employment. Uganda faces a high youth unemployment rate, with a large portion of young people struggling with inadequate earnings, low productivity, and poor working conditions. The country has a young population, with a large number of youths entering the job market annually, further exacerbating the issue.
UCAA shall also prioritize youth skilling through providing young people with the skills and training needed to succeed in the workforce and contribute to their communities. This will involve vocational training, apprenticeships, and other educational programs focused on practical job skills.
Specific objectives:
To contribute to youth empowerment through (self) employment initiatives, skilling and retooling to enhance sustainable economic development and improvement of quality of life of vulnerable households.Expected results

Increased willingness by the youth and community to change from non-productive working culture towards economically viable youth employment
