How Uganda Change Agent Uplighted Persis' Skills

Persis Wagabaza is a female from the central region of Uganda, Mukono district, Namumira parish. She was trained in Change Agent Training in 1998. Persis was working as secretary in a secondary school (Bishop Nkoyoyo SSS Matale) and before that, she worked as a banker in former Sembabule Investment Bank (Bank of Africa). She had little knowledge about group formation and self-reliance.

Persis received capacity building / training like the CAT course and other courses which created awareness in her life. She also learned to become self-reliant and her skills in accountancy were improved which gave her a chance to use them effectively as an auditor and trainer, and later as a programme officer. After joining UCAA, Persis has been able to set up a retail shop and its doing well. Persis applauds UCAA as she says; “I take this opportunity to thank Change Agent Secretariat for being true friends, friends in need, friends indeed.”
