
International Women's Day celebration in Kyangwali Refugee settlement and Napak District
UCAA joined partners to celebrate International Women's Day in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, and other celebrations in Napak district bringing together women, girls including GBV survivors, in a safe space to learn about their rights and available protection services.
Many participants shared that the event helped them better understand that violence against women should never be tolerated. One woman said: “Seeing many women come together made me feel that I am not alone.”
Through songs, drama, testimonies, and motivational talks, the celebration promoted healing, solidarity, and empowerment. The women encouraged continued awareness and support for survivors across the community.
In the Children at risk-CaR Program in Napak: Girl child pupils of Kapwat primary school sang songs portraying child protection messages during women's day celebration at the school-The district leaders planted trees at the school to memorize the international women's day and promotion of environment, a major factor in the daily lives of a woman and girl child.
