The Distinctiveness Uganda Change Agent Brought To Luci'es Life

Lucie Bamuhamye is a female aged 53. She is from Namutumba district, Ivukula sub county and Ivukula parish. She was trained by UCAA in May, 1999. Lucie was a humble soft spoken civil servant who could not speak out her mind to everyone and could not fully express herself as she could not take decisions without consulting other people. She shared. Lucie received the following capacity building and trainings from UCAA which included; Change Agent Training course, management of groups, Trainer of Trainers for CAT, fundraising & resource mobilization, Disaster Risk Reduction and Trainer of Trainers for DRR among others.

After a variety of trainings received from UCAA, Lucie acquired a number of skills including assertiveness, self-reliance and innovation as well as uniqueness in performing of her duties, handling of the community and her personal life. Lucie was also able to acquire her own unique way of training communities and doing her businesses. She easily detects profits, risks and losses and plans for possible solutions in the shortest time. She has held different positions including those on UCAA BOD, she was the UCAA BOD Chairperson from 2012 -2015. Besides UCAA, she also had assistance from other organizations like; Action Aid International which enabled her to travel widely around the world, Civil Society Organizations which helped keep her candle burning and Libber Foundation which let her travel to Netherlands for fundraising. “However, all the opportunities came by the skills I acquired from the Change Agent Methodology” She concluded.
